Model 906F ~ Fast SCSI Add Fast SCSI or SCSI-2 to your G3 or G4 PowerMac with this Orange Micro Grappler SCSI, Model 906F. Install in a PCI expansion port and it gives you one internal 50 pin port and one external 25 pin port. Add a SCSI drive inside or use for an external Zip/Jaz drive, hard drive, scanner, CD/DVD drive and more. PowerBook SCSI Cables This page contains the most common SCSI cables that will plug into the built in 30 pin square port on your PowerBook. This connector was only ever used on PowerBooks starting with the PowerBook 100 and ending with the Lombard G3. The connector for this port is referred to as HDI-30, and the port is female - it needs a cable with pins sticking out (male). These SCSI cables are used to connect to scanners, external CD Drives and external hard drives - including Zip, Jaz, Orb and others. HDI-30 - DB25 M/M: Most Scanners and some of the early external hard drive manufacturers such as LaCie used the DB25 pin ports on their devices. HDI-30 - CN50 M/M: Most external CD Drives and hard drives have the CN50 (Centronics) ports. HDI-30 to HD50 M/M: Some external drives are SCSI 2 devices and need this connector. (This connector is also referred to as HDB50, MD50, Micro 50, Mini D50) Select below, all are less than 2' long. Colors will vary between light gray and dark gray depending on stock. DB25 and Centronics 50 This page contains the most common SCSI cables that will plug into the built in 25 pin port on your Macintosh (Plus through Beige G3) or Apple II (IIe & IIGS with a SCSI Card). The connector for this port is referred to as DB25, and the port is female - it needs a cable with pins sticking out (male). These SCSI cables are used to connect to scanners, external CD Drives and external hard drives - including Zip, Jaz, Orb and others. Select below: All are used cables except some CN50-CN50. A) DB25 - DB25 M/M Cable: Most Scanners, Zip Drives and some of the early external hard drive manufacturers such as LaCie used the 25 pin ports on their devices. Also used for chaining 2 or more drives together. B) DB25 - CN50 M/M Cable: Most external CD Drives and hard drives have the CN50 (Centronics) ports. C) CN50 - CN50 M/M Cable. Centronics 50. Used to chain 2 or more drives together. E) CN50 M - CN50 F Cable. Centronics 50 Extension cable While all can range from 18” to 6’ , it is easiest for me to list them as 3’ and under (most are less than 2'), and 4-6’. SCSI-2 and SCSI-3 Cables are found here. HD50 and HD68 pin Internal SCSI expansion cards and adapters let you add SCSI 2 or SCSI 3 drives to your Mac - both internal and external. These are called many names, but I’ll go with the shortest - HD50 or HD68. Also can be MD50, Micro 50, Mini D50 or MD68, Micro 68, Mini D68, Ultrawide, Ultra2, LVD. SCSI-2 devices have the 50 pin HD50 ports (approx 1-3/8” wide). Most, if not all, use a latch mechanism instead of thumbscrews. SCSI-3 devices have the 68 pin HD68 ports (approx 1-7/8” wide). Some use a latch mechanism and some use the traditional screws. New cables are available in 3’ or 6’ lengths. Used cables can be less than 3' or 4-6'. Some have metal ends.
