Apple IIc Bottom Case Insulator Shield

A2S4000 & A2S4100

Additional DescriptionMore Details

Apple IIc Bottom Case Shield. Metal shield with insulation paper. It is not meant to be removable so would have to be glued on to the case.

At some point as the computer changed from A2S4000 to A2S4100, the bottom case was coated on the inside with black and they did away with this shield. So if your IIc is black inside, you don't need it.

Apple IIc Case

A2S4000 & A2S4100

Additional DescriptionMore Details

A2S4000 was the original IIc case and was used with the Rom 255 and ROM 0 motherboard.
A2S4100 designated the ROM 3 and ROM 4 motherboard.

At some point the case had some slight modifications. The rear case panel was removable on the original IIc’s, it then became one piece with the top case (see last photos). The lower shield was removed and the inside of the case was coated with black (pretty sure this one is a A2S4100 change).

Lower case assy comes with feet, speaker, and shield* (the cases with black inside never had that shield)
Upper case assy comes with back panel* (later cases were all one unit), screw clips for the handle, light pipe and Apple emblem.
Complete case includes matching upper and lower cases. All are interchangeable. Expect minor scuff and scratches as these are 35 years old.

Select below:

A) Upper Case (2 pc early) Medium to severe discoloration (far right in photo)

B) Complete Case (early) Nice to light discoloration (main photo is this case) OR it's parts below. This one has minor pry marks from someone trying to figure out how to open the case.

C) Upper Case (2 pc early)

D) Bottom Case w/shield (A2S4000)

E) Complete Case (late) Light to medium discoloration (the remaining case in photos) OR it's parts below

F) Upper Case (1pc late)

G) Bottom Case no shield (A2S4100)

Additional DescriptionMore Details

Apple 875-0049. Mesh washers used between the Disk Drive and the motherboard in an Apple IIc. There are only 2 used - see photo for illustration, washer is next to the silver pad it sits on. I thought these were for some kind of rfi with the disk drive before I looked at the parts list and realized they are for grounding it.

Apple IIc Disk Drive Keyboard Clip

A2S4000 & A2S4100

Additional DescriptionMore Details

Apple IIc keyboard ground clip that attaches to the internal disk drive shield. This is used for later keyboards that have a metal strip that sticks out the top (last photo). The early keyboard (middle photo) had a pcb tab that stuck out to sit in that slot in the disk drive shield and no clip. The screw that holds it on is already in your shield, so this is just the clip.

Apple IIc Power Supply (Internal)

A2S4000 & A2S4100

Additional DescriptionMore Details

Internal Power Supply for the Apple IIc. Also called a voltage converter by some. Apple kept adding more and more shielding to them, but the one on the right seems to have a newer part number. The shielding is for the disk drive. The components on the board also changed, so maybe the necessity for shielding went away.

A) Left in photo. Astec AA7341B. Apple 699-0230. It comes with a clip on cover. May or may have the slide on cover over the top of that depending on how it comes out of the computer.

B) Right in photo. Astec AA7343A. Apple 699-0230-B. No cover or shield, as pictured.

Apple IIe Base Assy

Regular or Platinum

Additional DescriptionMore Details

The case, base and lid differed among all versions of the Apple IIe.

The IIe Base Assy includes 4 feet, the speaker and fastener, the motherboard standoffs, keyboard brackets on #1 and #2, RFI strip on #2 through #4, and motherboard bumpers on #4 only. Everything is also sold separately except the non removable keyboard brackets.

Select below from the following:

1) The earliest IIe's used 4 screws across the front as well as 2 screws in the back panel. Keyboard bracket on the base. Brown bottom, back panel and standoffs.

2) Front screws were reduced to 3, gone were the screws in the back panel, and an RFI strip was added. Keyboard bracket remained on the base. Brown bottom, back panel and standoffs.

3) Keyboards now attached to the underside of the lid, so no more brackets. Otherwise the same as #2. Brown bottom, back panel and standoffs. (Very late models may have 3 rubber motherboard bumpers, but not currently available.)

4) Same as #3, and completely interchangeable but this was for the Platinum (extended keyboard model), so gray bottom, back panel, and standoffs. A minor variation was the holes above the feet became round instead of square at some point with this version, so you may receive either. Also, this base has 3 rubber motherboard bumpers.

Case #3. Same as #2 except the keyboard brackets on the base are gone and the keyboard now fastened to the underside of the case. (pic 2 and 4)
