DB25 and Centronics 50

Description

This page contains the most common SCSI cables that will plug into the built in 25 pin port on your Macintosh (Plus through Beige G3) or Apple II (IIe & IIGS with a SCSI Card). The connector for this port is referred to as DB25, and the port is female – it needs a cable with pins sticking out (male).

These SCSI cables are used to connect to scanners, external CD Drives and external hard drives – including Zip, Jaz, Orb and others.

Select below: All are used cables except some CN50-CN50.

  • A) DB25 – DB25 M/M Cable: Most Scanners, Zip Drives and some of the early external hard drive manufacturers such as LaCie used the 25 pin ports on their devices. Also used for chaining 2 or more drives together.
  • B) DB25 – CN50 M/M Cable: Most external CD Drives and hard drives have the CN50 (Centronics) ports.
  • C) CN50 – CN50 M/M Cable. Centronics 50. Used to chain 2 or more drives together.
    D) CN50 – CN50 M/M Cable – NEW!
  • E) CN50 M – CN50 F Cable. Centronics 50 Extension cable

While all can range from 18” to 6’ , it is easiest for me to list them as 3’ and under (most are less than 2′), and 4-6’. From a variety of manufactures, colors can be white, gray or beige.

*Note that most SCSI devices require a terminator, one Centronics version can be found here.
