The keyboard plug is a pass-through meaning that the keyboard cable plugs into this connector. All other models require an external power supply/adapter. Limited supply on these adapters, so modems are available with or without external power supply. Coloring may vary from nice to medium discoloration

Please note that I am unable to test modems beyond power up as I do not have telephone service capable of dial-up. Sold-as-is and priced accordingly.

All may be used with any Mac, Plus to Beige G3, with a round, 8-pin modem port. Also can be used with the Apple IIGS.

What few manuals I have are here. The latest software from Global Village can be found here along with firmware updates. Contact me if you need GlobalFax versions 2.5.5 or 2.6.7 or GlobalFax OCR 1.0.

Global Village Gold II External GeoPort Fax Modem

Yes, Geoport!

Additional DescriptionMore Details

TelePort Gold II for Macintosh Performa, Model PL510P external Fax Modem by Global Village. Introduced with the Centris 660AV and Quadra 840AV, it became standard on most Performa’s and Power Macintosh’s.

GeoPort devices have 9 pins instead of the usual 8 pins found on most printer cables and modems. The actual port on the back of the Macintosh with a GeoPort also has 9 pins, but will accept the common 8 pin cables, the round, mini-DIN. This modem is NOT usable on any Mac without a round, 9 pin mini-DIN modem port or GeoPort. Power is provided from that 9th pin, so no external power adapter is necessary.

Tested to power on only as I don’t have telephone service capable of dial-up.

Supra Express 336e External Fax Modem (Serial)

33.6 Macintosh Faxmodem

Additional DescriptionMore Details

Supra Express 33.6e Fax Modem. Made for the Macintosh and offers 33,600 bps Data and 14,400 bps Fax. Modem eliminates the need for an external power supply with an integrated ADB connector on the modem cable to receive power. The ADB passthrough means that you can still plug in your keyboard and mouse. This works similarly to the small USB hard drives that have a USB Y cable – One end plugs into the device, one end receives power from the computer port and one end transmits data to an from the computer.

Package includes box, modem with double duty cable and advertisements of the day. If I come across the manual or software, they will be added and page updated. Modem has been tested to power on, but I do not have telephone service capable of dial-up. The modem (serial) cable (8 pin mini-din) connects to the round modem port on your Mac (Plus through Beige G3) or IIGS and the power end requires an ADB port, used for external keyboards, mice and trackballs. Fortunately all of those computers have that too. Tested to power on only as I don’t have a telephone service capable of dial-up.
